Cage traps can be effective in the war against rabbits. Barron Pest Control for Rabbit Control Somerset.

Rabbits cause an enormous amount of damage every year to crops, railways, nurseries, gardens, golf courses, runways, motorways, cemeteries etc. Recent DEFRA estimates put rabbit damage at £10 per annum, per rabbit to cereal and equivalent crops and there are estimated to be around 40 to 50 million wild rabbits in Britain at present, with the population growing year on year. Other estimates state that 10 rabbits will eat the equivalent amount of grass to 1 sheep.

Methods of rabbit control are varied and can be quite costly. Fencing of vulnerable crops with electric or wire can be effective. Gassing using Aluminium Phosphide can work in the right conditions. Likewise shooting, snaring, netting, ferreting and trapping with spring, cage & box traps can make serious inroads into localised rabbit populations.
